Climate Change and Adaptation

Impact of climate change has already been visible in several sectors including snow and glaciers, water resources, agriculture, health, ecosystems and biodiversity, infrastructure development, which has  repercussion effect in livelihood and economy. Extreme and erratic weather events including floods, intense and concentrated rainfall events, droughts, heat waves etc. are the consequences of climate change in developing world including Nepal. Local adaptation and climate resiliency plan and activities are crucial to protect the community and ecosystem.

NERI expertises on developing site specific climate change adaptation and resilience plans, climate induced disaster risk reduction strategies, climate smart agriculture, and related activities that ultimately reduces the climate risk to community.
