Mr. Sudeep Bhandari is founding member of Nepal Environmental Research Institute (NERI). He is Environmental Science graduate from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Mr. Bhandari has more than five years of experience on research development on natural resources, disaster and climate change adaptation planning in NERI. Before joining at NERI he serves in different positions at Wilderness Planet Nepal, Red Panda Network and Top Hill Area Conservation Campaign Nepal.
At present Mr. Bhandari is serving NERI on research project development, management and operation.

Mr. Dilli Bhattarai completed M.Sc. Degree in Environmental Science with specialization on Climate Change from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. In addition, he has completed summer courses on ' Surface Water– Groundwater Interaction: From Watershed Processes to Hyporheic Exchange' from University of Zurich in 2019, and 'Bioeconomy in mountain areas – an opportunity for local development' form University of Turin in 2018. He has expertise on groundwater modeling and watershed management.
Mr. Bhattarai has over 6 years of working experience in the field of climate change, water, and related areas with extensive experiences of working with various national and international partners, government line agencies and local communities. He has also conducted multiple trainings on watershed management and related trainings to stakeholders and local government officials in different parts of Nepal. Mr. Dilli Bhattarai is currently persuing PhD in Iowa State University, USA.
Mr. Bhattarai has received International Climate Protection Fellowship form Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany in 2018 for his research concept on groundwater modeling in southern part of Nepal. He worked on the project during 2019 and was hosted by Institute of Physical Geography, Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany as a Guest Researcher from April 2019 to February 2020. In addition, he has also received ‘Berkner Fellowship 2015’ to present a research work in the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting (AGU15) in San Francisco, USA; ‘University of Nairobi-IDRC Research Grants on Innovative Application of ICTs in Addressing Water-related Impacts of Climate Change’ from University of Nairobi, Kenya; and ‘Targeted Investment for Research Impacts (TIRI) Early-career Researcher Fellowship of Livestock Climate Change Collaborative Research Support Program’ from Colorado State University, USA. Also, he has shared his research works in various conferences in different countries including American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting 2015 in USA, Community Based Adaptation to Climate Change Conference (CBA9) in Kenya, and Open Science Conference in China.

Dr. Shashi Chaudhary holds a doctorate degree (PhD) in International Economics from Vietnam National University, Vietnam; Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE) from University of London, UK; and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economics from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He is an active researcher and owns credit for 20 research articles published in the reputable journals from Nepal, India, Vietnam and the UK. He has presented a considerable number of papers in international conferences. His areas of research are macroeconomic issues, development policy issues, corporate risk management, and global value chains.
Dr. Chaudhary is the co-founder and Director of Nepal Environment Research Institute (NERI). He has experience of working in the central bank of Nepal (Nepal Rastra Bank) for five years in the capacity of Deputy Director of the Research Department. He has also experience of teaching courses in the field of Macroeconomics, Financial economics, and Development economics in higher education sector for over twelve years. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Advanced HE (SFHEA), UK and a University of London Worldwide Recognised Tutor. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer at British University Vietnam.

Mr. Badri Baral, one of the founders of NERI, holds Master's Degree in Environmental Science with specialization in biodiversity conservation and wildlife management from Tribhuvan University. Over the past six years Mr. Baral has acquired a blend of diverse scientific knowledge, analytical skills and time management. Mr. Baral is a field biologist at landscape level with extensive field experiences. He has visited several parts of Nepal while conducting field based research on Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens fulgens Cuvier 1825). He has successfully confirmed the presence of the species in Jajarkot, along with Mareni and Jaljala Community Forest of Myagdi District of western Nepal while working for the project "Conserving the red panda habitat in Chitwan- Annapurna Landscape-recoiling science and community based actions" in 2015. Likewise He has enrolled himself again as a wildlife biologist for national Red Panda survey in Nepal, 2016. He also has extensive experiences of working with communities in remote areas of Nepal especially in species conservation sectors to aware community people, school teachers and students.
Mr. Baral has been awarded with Rufford Small Grant 2016 for Red Panda Conservation project in Jajarkot district. Research works and field experiences not only provided him the opportunity to practice different forms of scientific communication and to deal with the overall of scientific subjects, but also developed Mr. Baral's capacity of interacting with different actors: public, scientists, journalists, scientific and governmental institutions.
Bidhya Pandey
Sociologist
Ms. Bidya Pandey pursued a Master in Sociology from Tribhuvan University. She is educationally coached, administered, scheduled, and delegated. She has experience working on several development projects and implementation of environmental programs run by many INGOs and local government bodies. She recently worked as a Team Leader in Raleigh Nepal and conducted a WASH program in the remote village of Hetauda, Nepal. During her placement, she worked closely with the local project partner WOCHEND to conduct various training and awareness-raising sessions to promote good hygiene practices in the community, whilst also embarking on many infrastructure projects in the village. Likewise, she liaised with community leaders; ensuring the team deliver project activities; producing reports, including a project-planning document and a post-placement report, and taking responsibility for the group’s finances, health and safety, and well-being. She is continuously contributing to ethnographic studies, qualitative research, and surveys. Besides, she is engaged in various educational institutions where she works with school-level students creating positive environmental change through education.
